  14. Amiga 2000, Bigfoot Power supply, Toaster, Flyer, GVP G-Force, 2 mb chip
  15. ram, 16 mb fast ram.

  17. Originally had a 340 mb Quantum as my system drive with Workbench, Toaster
  18. & Flyer software installed on it. The drive was mounted directly on the
  19. G-Force.

  21. Just bought a 1 gig Quantum Fireball to take over as my system drive. Have
  22. done the following:

  24. Moved the 340 mb drive off the G-Force on to the empty bay beside the
  25. floppy drive. Set it's SCSI ID to #1 & left it terminated as the last
  26. drive on the chain. (The  G-Force manual indicates the card itself is
  27. terminated as the first device in the chain). The G-Force ID is pre-set to
  28. 7, so no conflicts there that I can see.

  30. Set SCSI ID for the Fireball to #0 & removed the termination as the middle
  31. device in the chain. Installed Workbench on the new drive after format,
  32. then started transferring files from the 340 mb drive to clear it out. The
  33. idea is to completely blank out the old drive & use it solely to render
  34. Lightwave RGB images to, with the new Fireball acting as the system drive.

  36. The problem is I can no longer do a warm boot. The monitor screen remains
  37. white ( no Workbench appears), the hard drive light for the Fireball
  38. remains on with no audible disc activity occurring. Finally turned the
  39. power off, let it sit a minute & did a cold boot. Workbench appears & all
  40. is well. Can access both drives (named "Video" for the Fireball &
  41. "Lightwave" for the 340 mb drive) without any problems.

  43. Why can I no longer do a warm boot? Did I mess up something with the ID's
  44. or termination? Is it bad to leave a copy of Workbench on BOTH drives. If
  45. so, should I delete the Workbench on the old drive. If so, how do I go
  46. about this?
